Annual Report 2013
MEMBERSHIP
& EVENTS
By the end of 2013, EKONID counted 432 members, which is a slight decline compared to the year
beforewhenwe counted 440members. Ourmembers are German and Indonesian companies as well
as individual members from various sectors like banking, chemical and pharmaceutical, electrical,
engineering, construction, automotive and manufacturing. We are very pleased to see in our “new
members”-category in Indonesia not only 12 German companies, but to see especially the group of
“Indonesian companies in Indonesia” growing. With 22 new companies in 2013 this was the most
growing group of our members. At this point we would like to express all of our new members a
very warm welcome in our community! We are looking forward to see you on our events in 2014.
Joining the chamber can help companies to grow their business by meeting the right decision
makers or high profile people. As we know
about the importance of networking
opportunities our EKONID Event Team
organized in 2013 a range of 21 events, from
our monthly networking “Get Together” in
Jakarta and Surabaya, the Joint European
Business Partner Gatherings to Business
Luncheons with high ranking government
and corporate representatives as well as
expert seminars and conferences. Our
networking events offered also in 2013 an
informal platform to gain information and
profit from other companies’ experiences,
expand social and business contacts,
develop business opportunities and
meet with corporate and government
representatives. It was again a very cost
effective way to promote their services /
products and gain new business contacts
within the German-Indonesian business society.
As in the last years our annually “Grünkohlessen” (Green Cabbage dinner), an all-gentlemen
event with traditional North German cuisine, and the well appraised EKONID signature event
“Spargelessen” (Asparagus dinner), with fresh flown-in asparagus and wines from Germany,
attracted many members and friends and were once again some of the social highlight of the
German – Indonesian community. Our Event Team is already thinking, which other event with the
potential to become a “tradition”, can be established in the coming year to provide our members
with another opportunity for gathering in a welcoming atmosphere!
