All in all EKONID conducted or was actively involved in the organization of one hundred and twenty five (125)
events in 2014; our regular social and networking events like Get Together, Business Luncheons, Grünkohlessen,
Spargelessen and the Summer Party, as well as conferences, seminars, workshops and trainings.
Program related events like the Photovoltaic Conference in May and the Biomass Conference in November, jointly
organized by EKONID and GIZ, attracted each more than 200 Indonesian companies.
The German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier was one of the first foreign dignitaries to pay a courtesy
visit to the newly elected Indonesian president and participated, together with the Coordinating Economic Minister,
Sofyan Djalil, in an EKONID business luncheon on 3

The European - Indonesian Business Dialog (EIBD) on 19

November, organized by the European - Indonesian
Business network (EIBN) under the lead of EKONID, with keynote speeches by Herman Van Rompuy, the president of
the European Council, and Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla, participated by around 350 corporate delegates,
was certainly EKONID’s event highlight of the year 2014.
The EU-Indonesian Business Network (EIBN), a platform co-funded by the European Commission and jointly
developed and implemented with our European chamber partners to improve market access as well as business
support for companies from the whole European Union, was one of the main projects put into operation during
the year 2014.
The newly developed Network Law & Taxes, a cooperation with selected law, tax and auditing firms or consultants
from Indonesia and Germany, provides EKONID members unique expertise and advice for the business operations,
with joint publications and events related to specific topics.
Since November 2014, with the arrival of an expert in vocational education, EKONID’s activities in this field developed
to the next level, opening up new cooperation possibilities and support for our corporate and institutional partners.

Our sincere appreciation is dedicated to all our members, premium partners and clients, who, through their continued
and generous assistance and endorsement, made EKONID’s work and success in 2014 possible. This support,
combined with the dedication of our highly motivated team, gives us the confidence to master all challenges and
opportunities ahead of us in the next years and to continue to promote bilateral trade and investment between our
nations and to carry on the representation of our member’s interest. We express our sincere gratitude to the Federal
German Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) for their continued financial support to EKONID, and to the
German Embassy and the other German, European and Indonesian institutions and partners, for maintaining the
