Visit of German Foreign Minister
H.E. Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier
On the occasion of the official visit of H.E. Dr. Frank-
Walter Steinmeier, German Minister of Foreign Affairs
of the Federal Republic of Germany and his delegation,
EKONID in Cooperation with the Indonesian Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (KADIN) held a Luncheon titled
“Germany and Indonesia Strategic Partnership and
Economic Policy of the New Indonesian Government”.
On 3rd November 2014, at the Ballroom of Shangri-
La Hotel Jakarta, H.E. the minister participated as a
speaker as well as H.E. Sofyan Djalil, Coordinating
Economic Minister of the Republic of Indonesia, Suryo
Bambang Sulisto, Chairman of KADIN Indonesia and
Ari Soemarno, Chairman of the EKONID Board.
In his speech Dr. Steinmeier stated, that he was the
first foreign minister who met the new Indonesian
Foreign Minister Mrs Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi.
Furthermore he pointed out that Germany stands
ready to support Indonesia’s strategy for growth
and investment. This statement was underlined by
the high level delegation which accompanied the
minister during his 2-day visit to Indonesia’s capital,
comprising of representatives from ThyssenKrupp
AG, Meyer Werft GmbH, Hamburg Port Authority,
Ferrostaal AG and Airbus. Both countries play an
important role in their respective regions, Europe and
Southeast Asia.
