EKONID
ANNUAL REPORT
2011
Business trips are a major element in the German
foreign trade promotion by federal or local governments.
Within this framework, EKONID’s Business Development
department organizes 3-4 days’ programs focusing on
business partner search and organizing B2B meetings.
Each time composed of 8 to 10 companies, the several
business delegations were covering different sectors
of activities. The programs for the delegates were built
around two main topics:
• Providing the necessary market entry information
• Presenting the German technologies and
organizing a potential partner search
To develop its business abroad, it is necessary to gather
information on the target country, its investment climate,
its regulations and its specificities. During the first day,
the participants from the delegations had the opportunity
to discover more about the Indonesian economy as well as
the characteristics of the market of their expertise. Sites
visits were organized as well in order for the participants
to get a better picture on the existing technologies.
The rest of the programs consisted in presenting the
German companies’ products and assisting the delegates
in finding potential business partners. Based on the
research and selection made by the Business Development
department’s team, the German participants met with 10
to 12 Indonesian counterparts contacted beforehand.
Out of those B2B meetings, several German participants
had the opportunity to find real partners among the
preselected ones, and are now properly entering the
Indonesian market.
The participation of high ranking political officials to those
delegations added an institutional component and we
would like to thank Mr. Joachim Kiefaber, State Secretary
of Saarland, and Mrs. Katja Hessel, State Secretary of
Economic Affairs of Bavaria for their visits.
