Training and Education
Against the background of rapidly growing interest among
companies, vocational schools and government as well as
private institutions towards EKONID’s Training and Education
services, the chamber put its allover activities within this field
under a new spotlight in 2017 with a new service brand and
platform dubbed “Information and Certification Center for
Qualification (ICCQ)”.
ICCQ comprises EKONID’s Dual Vocational Education
programs following German standard, the new Seminar Training
Calendar to be launched in 2018 as well as Certification Services
for the Training of Trainers (AdA international Basic Version)
courses following German standard. The chamber also began
developing an ICCQ website set to display the Seminar Training
Calendar and the related Trainer Pool, aside from EKONID’s
other Training and Education services.
In the implementation of its Training and Education
services, EKONID is supported by the “Skills Experts Program” of
the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi),
the Association of German chambers of Commerce and Industry
(DIHK) as well as the “ExperTS Program” of the Federal Ministry
for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Dual Vocational Education
The year 2017 marked the start of the first German-
standard dual vocational education program, certified by
EKONID / DIHK, of a public Indonesian vocational school.
Organized and coordinated by EKONID, the German companies
Siemens, Mercedes-Benz and MAN Diesel & Turbo as well as
the Indonesian state-owned enterprise Barata committed
themselves to train 20 students of vocational school SMKN 26
Jakarta in the practical part of a 2.5-year industrial mechanics
dual program. The theoretical part of the program, conducted
by SMKN 26, began in December 2017. The students will
undergo a final examination reflecting both parts.
The first German-standard dual vocational education
program with a private Indonesian vocational school,
implemented by EKONID in 2016, saw its first part of the final
examination in 2017. The 2.5-year program of 24 automotive
mechatronics students, realized in cooperation with PT ASTRA
international / ASTRA Group and its Manufacturing Polytechnic
(Polman ASTRA), is likewise examined and certified by EKONID /
DIHK. For the 2018 start of its Automotive Mechatronics Meister
program, a 1-year German-standard further qualification for
certified automotive mechatronics, EKONID took the next
