In Surabaya, Indonesia’s second largest city located in the east of Java, EKONID is now represented at the
“Wisma Jerman” (German House). Wisma Jerman is a unique worldwide cooperation of the Goethe-Institut
and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Supported by the German Embassy, Wisma Jerman
supports cultural and economic events as well as networking. Furthermore, Wisma Jerman promotes the
German language in Indonesia by offering courses to interested students.

The DIHK-Sequa-Project, which was completed in April 2011, was also located at EKONID, a partnership
program between the German DIHK and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) to
strengthen local partner’s ability (to represent the interests of the private sector and to offer services to small
and medium-sized enterprises).
