Situated in the Central Business District (CBD) of
Indonesia’s capital Jakarta, EKONID has enjoyed
many years of strategic existence within the German-
Indonesian trade and investment interchange.
For our members, EKONID’s head office serves as a
meeting place and info center, as well as the central-
point to address inquiries and seek advice. For the
EKONID Team, the head office is the working hub,
where staff prepares delegation visits, conducts
studies, implements projects, promotes trade fairs
and provides services for members and clients alike.
Housing more than 60 dedicated employees, EKONID
also provides the working space for projects such as
the Clean Batik Initiative, an implementation body
for the sustainable production and consumption for
the Indonesian batik industry from the European-
Union’s SWITCH-Asia program as well as JERIN,
an interactive project platform covering events ranging
from culture to business, science to education,
and politics to the environment organized in
cooperation with the German Embassy in Jakarta and
the Goethe-Institut.
Also represented in the EKONID building is Germany
Trade and Invest (GTAI), the foreign trade and inward
investment agency of the Federal Republic of Germany.
GTAI promotes Germany as a business and technology
location for investment and supports companies
based in Germany with market information.
In Surabaya, Indonesia’s second largest city located in the east of Java, EKONID is now represented at the
“Wisma Jerman” (German House). Wisma Jerman is a unique worldwide cooperation of the Goethe-Institut and
the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Supported by the German Embassy, Wisma Jerman supports
cultural and economic events as well as networking.
