Bauma 2013 PARTNER COUNTRY INDONESIA
Indonesia has accepted to become the sole partner
country of the biggest construction and mining
trade fair in the world – bauma 2013. The goal of the
initiators of the Partner Country concept is to further
boost the profile of bauma in Indonesia as the world’s
greatest innovations showcase for the sector, and
to enter into dialogue with the decision-makers in
Indonesia. On May 2, on the occasion of the Conbuild
Mining Indonesia (MMI Asia) Trade Show at JI Expo
-Kemayoran, Mr. Djoko Kirmanto, Minister of Public
Works of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Klaus Dittrich,
Chairman & CEO of Messe München International,
and Mr. Walter Hess, the VDMA’s Special Envoy for
the bauma Partner Country of Indonesia signed a
Memorandum of Understanding expressing their
support for the world’s largest trade show taking
place from April 15 to 21, 2013 in Munich.
With this official confirmation accepting the
nomination of Indonesia as the Partner Country
of bauma in 2013 by the Indonesian government,
conceptual work of the presentation of Indonesia at
bauma has to be developed. To ensure the success of
the Indonesian participation, the road to bauma had

to be constructed in 2012 with a number of events and
meetings. One highlight was the visit of Minister Djoko
Kirmanto and his delegation to the Annual Congress of
the Committee of European Construction Equipment
(CECE) in Berlin as a prelude of bauma.
Furthermore, EKONID as the local partner of Messe
Muenchen International (Trade Fair Organizer) and
VDMA (German Engineering Federation, conceptual
sponsor) took part in several events like IIICE 2012,
APMC and Konstruksi Indonesia.
