Business delegations are another major element in
the German foreign trade promotion efforts by federal
or local governments as a tool to support SMEs to
approach new markets.
RENEWABLES-MADE IN GERMANY
EKONID and GIZ have been working together closely
in the renewable energy sector for more than four
years within the framework of the PEP SEA project,
supported by the German Federal Ministry for
Economics and Technology (BMWi). The year 2012
saw another successful implementation within the
„Renewables – Made in Germany“ initiative through
the German-Indonesian Solar Energy days. The event
with the title “Harnessing the Sun: Potential and
Challenges in the Indonesian Solar Power Market”, on

th
April 2012, Ritz Carlton, Kuningan, attracted more
than 200 high level participants from governmental
institutions as well as the private sector, qualified
experts and professionals shared know-how from
their respective fields. In addition to providing the
necessary market entry information and presenting
the German technologies, EKONID organized potential
business partner searches through B2B during
match making and company visits for the 8 German
participants joining the delegation.
BUSINESS MISSION FROM BRANDENBURG
Another highlight in 2012 was the Business Mission
from Brandenburg to Indonesia organized by EKONID
in cooperation with the ZAB (ZukunftsAgentur
Brandenburg). 15 companies from the German
Capital Region Berlin-Brandenburg visited Jakarta
and Bandung in order to find Indonesian partners
for cooperation and exchange of experience and
expertise. More than 100 high-ranking guests from
business and politics joined the two presentation and
networking events in both locations and learned about
innovation from the state of Brandenburg.
