Celebrating in Bavarian style
Almost 300 national and international Oktoberfest fans gathered in the Grand Ballroom
of Sheraton Surabaya Hotel and Towers to celebrate the 2
nd
EKONID Oktoberfest. The
deeper sense of every Oktoberfest is easily outlined: to have a good time, to enjoy
tasty Bavarian food and free flow of beer, and, finally, to listen and dance to traditional
Bavarian and international music.
And this was exactly what the Oktoberfest guests experienced in Surabaya: Fun was
guaranteed as MC Hubert Born from Jakarta got everyone upon the benches and raise
their glass with Prosits! The program’ music entertainment came from VOLX Tirol,
the Oktoberfest band from Germany – two young musicians who brought all the
Oktoberfest and international hits on stage. After several hours of listening to their
music, even the worst dancer got weak and joined the Polonaise dance with everyone
else dancing through the table rows.
Sheraton Surabaya performed a culinary magic and served the most popular Bavarian
dishes like porkknuckles, pretzels and other kinds of bread creations, different kinds of
sausages, various potato dishes and salads, and not to forget delicious German deserts
and sweets.
The party went on until late into the evening hours with everyone enjoying the jolly and
cheerful atmosphere. Surabaya has now got one highly anticipated event and people
are already talking about the 3

EKONID Oktoberfest in 2014!
