and 15 German companies from the automotive and
production engineering sector, scheduled a two-day
visit to Jakarta within the scope of their visit to
Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia to explore markets
in the ASEAN-region. In Jakarta, the delegation
introduced “Customized Automotive and Production
Engineering Solutions from Baden-Württemberg for
Indonesia“ in the framework of a business forum,
followed by more than 50 individual B2B meetings.
Site visits to PT. Gaya Motor (Astra) and Mercedes
Benz Indonesia, as well as round table discussions and
an evening reception at the residence of the German
Ambassador completed the program of the delegation
visit.
In the second half of the year, EKONID welcomed and
supported a business delegation of eight companies
from the German state of North
Rhine-Westphalia
,
led by Wolfgang Grieß,President of the Bonn/Rhein-
Sieg Chamber of Commerce, Michael F. Bayer, CEO
of the Aachen Chamber of Commerce and Frank
Malis, Managing Director of the Aachen Chamber of
Commerce.
Within the scope of this delegation visit, several company
visits were organized where the participants could both
network and gain an authentic impression of their
future business partners, their way of manufacturing,
service or logistics. A round table discussion with
members of EKONID’s law and tax network in addition
provided the guests with the opportunity to get a
deeper understanding of the legal framework as well as
investment opportunities in Indonesia.
The
bremenports delegation
in November 2014, led by
Bremen’s Senator for Economic Affairs, Labor and Ports
Mr. Martin Günthner, comprised company delegates
and representatives from research institutes and banks
visited the ports of Belawan, Medan and Tanjung Priok,
Jakarta. Additional to those visits the delegation had
several meetings scheduled with respective Indonesian
ministries. EKONID supported the delegation by
organizing an “Invest in Indonesia” roundtable, which
provided the delegates with profound information
about the Indonesian investment landscape, with a
special focus on the maritime sector.
Supported by the German Federal Ministry of
Economics and Energy (BMWi) and the German
Engineering Federation (VDMA), EKONID has hosted
a 3-day high profile
trade mission for Construction-,
Processing- and Special-Machinery in Jakarta
in November 2014
. EKONID organized a one day
conference in the InterContinetal Hotel Jakarta where
high profile speakers from 11 participating German
heavy equipment companies presented their field of
activities and the latest technologies from Germany.
Industry experts from Indonesia’s public and private
sectors have provided an overview of the current
state of Indonesia’s construction and construction
machinery industry. On the two following days EKONID
arranged matchmaking meetings between German and
Indonesians key decision makers where the companies
were able to discuss future business cooperation and
share their view and expertise on the sector.
As part of the German export initiative, the German-
Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce
(EKONID) has organized another
business mission
for German companies in the field of Security
Technology and Services / Public Safety and
Protection to Jakarta
. The business mission took place
in November 2014 and was supported by the German
Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy (BMWi) and
by several German associations such as ZVEI, VfS and
BDSW. It gave a group of 10 German SMEs, joined
by two representatives from German Ministries, the
opportunity to get a comprehensive picture of the
Indonesian market for security systems and services /
public safety and protection by visiting local companies,
authorities and institutions and by meeting with their
management and experts. This four-day visiting
program in Jakarta has offered many possibilities to
initiate mutual beneficial business contacts with market
players as well as to exchange views and insights on
recent trends and developments in the fast growing
security industry. Some of the participating German
companies were key players in areas such as hazardous
material detection, fire fighting equipment, critical
communication, security and safety training, personal
protective equipment, gas detection systems as well as
system provider of complete security services in the
industrial, fire protection, mining and other industries.
