Business Delegations
and Conferences
Business delegations and Conferences
are another
major element in the German foreign trade promotion
efforts by federal or local governments as a tool to
support SMEs to approach new markets.
“Renewables-Made in Germany”
EKONID and the GIZ have been working together
closely in the renewable energy sector for more than
six years now within the framework of the PEP SEA
project, supported by the German Federal Ministry for
Economics and Technology (BMWi). The year 2014
saw another successful implementation within the
„Renewables – Made in Germany“–export initiative
through two major business delegation events in
the fields of Photovoltaic and Biomass (May and
November 2014).Both events together attracted more
than 250 high level participants from governmental
institutions as well as the private sector, qualified
experts and professionals shared know-how from their
respective fields. In addition to providing the necessary
market entry information and presenting the German
technologies, EKONID organized potential business
partner searches through B2B during match making
and company visits for the 15 German participants
joining the delegation programs.
Other highlights were several trade promotion
delegation programs from German states throughout
the year of 2014:
EKONID’s delegation schedule started with a delegation
from the German federal state of Lower Saxony in
March, was led by
Lower Saxony’s
State Secretary of the
Ministry for Economics, Labour and Transport, Daniela
Behrens and comprised of 12 companies from several
sectors as well as 3 Members of the Lower Saxony
Parliament. Expert briefings, various company visits
and matchmaking meetings ensured a complete overall
impression: Investment possibilities, political framework
and concrete business projects for the German companies.
A reception at the residence of the German Ambassador
Dr. Witschel and a visit to the German Centre rounded
the visit by the German State of Niedersachsen.
In April 2014 a delegation from
Baden-Württemberg
,
led by Dr. Nils Schmid, Deputy Minister President and
Minister of Finance and Economics of the State of
Baden-Württemberg and comprising of 41 participants
